Nearly 46 percent of voters turned out for the Gubernatorial Primary Election Oct. 12, according to official post election results released by the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office (SOS) this week.
A total of 9,390 or 45.3 percent of the 20,728 voters eligible to cast their ballots in the election turned out, according to SOS.
Of those qualified voters, 48.2 percent of Democrats turned out or 4,005 voters. There were 3,545 Republicans or 54.8 percent turning out to vote and 1,840 or 30.9 percent of voters in the other category.
