MANY (AP) — Eight students at a Louisiana high school face charges after an alleged sexual assault on another student.

MANUFACTURING FACILITY PLANNED FOR NORTHWEST LOUISIANA

BATON ROUGE, (AP) — A Canadian company plans to create an industrial sound control equipment manufacturing facility in northwest Louisiana, Gov. John Bel Edwards’ office announced Thursday. E.I. Williams will make $700,000 in improvements to an existing building in the North Webster Parish Industrial District for its manufacturing facility. The Sarepta site will be the company’s first manufacturing site in the United States, according to Edwards’ office.

TED revisions put in writing

FENTON - Police officials here are updating the literature of previous guidelines set in regards to officers working the Traffic Enforcement Detail (TED) program. Updates have not been made since a 2016 amendment was suggested. Several changes have been brought before the council.

The Jennings Festival Association has scheduled this year’s celebration to take place on Saturday, Feb. 22. Beginning at 11 a.m., food, craft and informational vendors will be set up in and around Founders Park. The Squeezebox Shootout Accordion competition at the Strand Theater will also begin at that time. Kegan Navarre and Friends will perform on stage at the park, beginning at 2 p.m., to entertain the crowds as they wait to catch candy, beads and other trinkets from this year’s Mardi Gras parade.

Hathaway sweeps pair from Bell City on the road

BELL CITY - The Hathaway High School (HHS) girls’ and boys’ basketball squads took on Bell City Thursday night in a district match-up at the Bell City Gymnasium. The No. 2-ranked Hornets took down the Bruins 67-50, while the No. 2 Lady Hornets canned a 60-40 victory to claim the 7-B out right championship.
