The Louisiana lawmakers who choose to show up Tuesday for a workday at the state Capitol will return to a political landscape reshaped by the coronavirus and to budget plans left in tatters by the state’s worsening outbreak.
The COVID-19 crisis has forced Jennings Daily News to temporarily close its doors to visitors, but the staff can still be reached from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Volunteers were on hand at Union Baptist Church to distribute lunches for Jeff Davis Parish students. Five days worth of meals were provided to each student who visited one of the feeding program sites. Superintendent Kirk Credeur said the Jeff Davis food service staff served 19,010 meals.
