A Jennings man is currently in custody after numerous animals were found to be emaciated in his custody.
On Monday, Michael Alexander, 28, of Jennings, was charged with four counts of simple cruelty to animals and eight counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
Jennings Police Department Chief Danny Semmes said animal control received a complaint that there were numerous animals in the backyard of a residence on the west end of town that appeared to be in distress.
