LDWF urges hunters, anglers to use caution in Cameron Parish

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is warning hunters and anglers to be aware that Cameron Parish continues under mandatory evacuation protocols in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.

A curfew remains in place from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. for the entire parish.

With the opening of teal season, many state residents are accustomed to traveling to the area.

“LDWF warns hunters and anglers of the significant amounts of debris and hazardous material remaining in waterways and scattered throughout Cameron Parish,” said LDWF press secretary Ed Pratt.

The family and friends of Ernest Benoit are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Sept. 11, 2020, at the age of 76.

Funeral services for Ernest Benoit will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel today, Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at 2 p.m., with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home today, Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 10:30 a.m. until time of his funeral service.

Ernest will be laid to rest in Hanks Cemetery.
