ELTON - All of Jeff Davis Parish was recently included in a multi-parish burn ban issued by State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning and Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain. The Town of Elton’s Fire Chief John Richard has made the call to rescind that ban, citing a concern for fire hazards due to the vegetative debris lining the roadways.
