Today we celebrate National Punctuation Day commemorating all punctuation. A period, comma, semicolon, question mark and exclamation point are examples of punctuation used in writing. Without them, meaning would be lost or up for interpretation as proper use of punctuation is important to separate sentences and their elements to clarify meaning. For example: “Let’s eat grandpa” and “Let’s eat, grandpa.”
