Hounds blast Red Devils, 66-0

PICKERING — To say the Welsh Greyhounds were ready to play Friday night would be a gross understatement. To say the defense came to battle would be a gross injustice. To say the Pickering Red Devils lost the contest on the first play of the game would be completely accurate. The result was a 66-0 shellacking handed to the Red Devils by the Greyhounds. Welsh would score with every possession in the contest except one.

Basile claims “Battle of the Bayou” with 27-8 win

BASILE — The Elton Indians dropped a tough one Friday night as the Basile Bearcats claimed the Battle of the Bayou by a final score of 27-8. The Indians fall to 2-2 overall, 0-1 in district play. The Indians will be back in action Friday night when they welcome in the Merryville Panthers to town for another district showdown.

FROM Regal TO RUBBLE

The old Shirley home, which once sat majestically on the corner of Fifth Street and North Cutting Avenue in Jennings, is now only a memory of days gone by.

Demolition to the home went quickly due to the extensive state of disrepair. The Jennings City Council voted to condemn the historical structure earlier this year.
