The Knights of Columbus Council 2012 recently held its annal Youth Soccer Challenge. The event provides an athletic outlet for young people ages 9-14 through a penalty kick competition designed to determine their skills.

1000TH PHONE IN CITY INSTALLED IN ARNAUDET HOME

When Mr and Mrs. M. L. Arnaudet moved into their now home on May Street and had a telephone installed this week, they unknowingly became the owner of the one thousandth telephone to be in use in Jennings. M. M. Buchanan, district manager, informed the News.\\ The installation which brought 1,000 telephones into use in Jennings set an all time record for telephone stations in this city and Mr. Buchanan said the new installations, here had shown the progressive increase of the population of this city.

BROUSSARDS BUY LAUNDRY BUILDING TO EXPAND

1940 - Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Broussard have purchased the two story brick building and lots, formerly owned by Ernest Huval of Crowley which has housed the Broussard Steam Laundry on South Broadway Street. The consideration was said to have been $3,500.
