JENNINGS — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Marie Ruby Faul Guidry, 83, of Jennings will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Trey Ange officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Garden of Angels with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating the committal. Arrangements are under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Elton postpones meeting

ELTON — The Town of Elton will no longer be meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 to discuss its budget. The mayor and town council will now host its December meeting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28 at Elton Town Hall, located at 1302 Main St. in Elton.

Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana (SWLA) is offering an opportunity to those in need to clean clothing and themselves. Catholic Charities of SWLA brought a mobile shower/laundry station to the area for anyone who could use a hot shower or get some laundry done. The mobile station, located at 1006 South Lake Arthur Ave. in Jennings, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 13 through Friday, Dec. 15. LAKE ARTHUR — It’s the holiday season and the town is busy preparing for the annual Christmas Movie Under the Oaks.
