Residents must decline utility protection to avoid charges

ELTON — The Town of Elton’s new water utility protection program, Servline, went into effect earlier this month. To avoid charges on the February water bill, Mayor Kesia Lemoine encourages those who do not wish to participate in the insurance service to opt out of the program by 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26. Residents can call Servline at 337301-8066 or Elton Town Hall at 337-584-2992 to decline service.

Finance Committee accepts bid for LHS project

A project planned to construct baseball and softball fields for Lacassine High School (LHS) moved one step closer to beginning after Jeff Davis Parish School Board (JDSB) Finance Committee approved a $664,554.65 bid from Gunter Construction at Tuesday’s meeting.
