1926 - Last Friday marked a new era in water transportation from Jennings and the Jennings oil field, when the new tug “Gertrude,: owned by G. B. Zigler Company of Jennings, steamed out from its loading docks at the Jaenke Bridge with 5,000 barrels of oil in tow for delivery to A. Kaplan at Abbeville. The “Gertrude” has 125H.P. engines.
