Events run in the order of their posted dates and ONLY AS SPACE ALLOWS. Events more than two weeks away may not run until closer to the event. Liquor permit approval falls flat for $8.5 million Jennings investor

Jennings City Council failed to approve a beer and liquor permit for Hebert’s Boudin and Cracklins LLC during their recent meeting.

Motorist smashes into medical building, hospitalized

Officers with the Jennings Police Department responded to a call earlier this week about a vehicle colliding with a local business. On Tuesday, April 10 at approximately 6:30 p.m., JPD officers were called to Thibodeaux, Albro and Touchet Therapy Group, located at 1322 Elton Rd. in reference to a motorist driving a four-door Nissan Altima into the building at a high rate of speed.

Jury approves funds for improvements, discusses future projects

Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury met recently to hear a presentation on the possible installation of electric vehicle charging stations, as well as to approve payments for on-going improvement projects.

Early voting kicks off Saturday

Early voting for the April 27 spring general election begins this Saturday at Jeff Davis Parish Registrar of Voters Office, located at 302 North Cutting Ave. in Jennings. The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 13-20 with the exception of Sunday, April 14. The upcoming general election includes a 10-year parishwide 2.61 courthouse maintenance millage renewal. Voters in the Lake Arthur, Welsh, Elton, Fenton, Kinder and Ragley areas will see additional items on the spring ballot, according to ROV Joann Blair.
