Washington speaks at Welsh Rotary Club meeting

The Rotary Club of Welsh met for their weekly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Welsh Community Center.

The guest speaker was Anthony Washington, territory manager for Veteran Exteriors. Mr. Washington shared information about their company, cleaning solutions and their five-step process.

Veteran Exteriors uses a soft washing approach instead of pressure washing. Before and after photos were shared.

The American Pet Products Association says there are 63.4 million households in the United States that have a dog, and with the exception of 2002 and 2015, that number has steadily risen since 2000. Certain breeds remain especially popular among dog owners. In August 2021, the pet insurance provider Trupanion released the most popular dog breeds of 2020, and the top five breeds were:

American Legion Post 520 draws fundraiser winners

Frank Thibodeaux Post 520 of The American Legion of Jennings drew three winning chance tickets from hundreds supported by area citizens. The Post annually conducts an end of summer fund raiser to help sponsor and donate funding support to various area school and community organizations towards their needs.

KCs donate to youth group

On Sunday, Oct. 24 Knights of Columbus (KC) Council 2012 from Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC) Parish in Jennings conducted a very successful barbecue fundraiser.

The council was assisted by members of the OLHC Youth Group. In appreciation for their help with this project,

KC members Toni Benoit, Michael Fontenot and Joel Richert presented a $400 donation to the youth group to help them with their other projects this year.
