Man admits to raping 11-year-old

WELSH - Brandon Lee Matthews is currently in the parish jail after confessing to the aggravated rape of an 11-year-old.

Welsh Police Chief Marcus Crochet said the victim attended a sleepover on Simmons Street and while there was assaulted and raped by Matthews, 21, who lives at 425 S. Simmons Street, Lot 6.

Thirty-first Judicial District Judge Steve Gunnell signed a warrant for Matthews arrest. With the help of Jennings police, the man was apprehended.

During an interview with Welsh investigators, Matthews confessed to the rape, said Crochet.
