Funeral services for Mrs. Lilly Smith Frederick, 90, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, in Miguez Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Julian officiating. Funeral home visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 8 a.m. Thursday until time of services. Burial will be in Maxie Cemetery. Mrs. Frederick died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, in Jeff Davis Living Center. Mrs. Frederick was a native of Branch and a resident of Jennings since 1990, moving here from Lake Charles. She loved to garden, decorate and she was an amazing cook.

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Laura Lee Myers announces her passing from this life on Aug. 1, 2019, at the age of 71.

Funeral services for Laura Lee Myers of Estherwood will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at 11 a.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 2:30-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday, Aug. 8, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service.

ELTON - Jean Laverne Hutson Putnam, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, with her family in her country home in Elton.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, in Elton United Methodist Church at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Laura Nausbaum officiating.

Visitation for Mrs. Putnam began at 2 p.m. and continued until the time of service.

A private burial was held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
