The No. 4-ranked Jennings Lady Bulldogs captured second place in district 4-3A Tuesday night with a 63-53 win over the No. 7 South Beauregard Lady Knights at Gaudet Gymnasium. The Lady Dogs finished off the season sweep over their old nemesis with the win, and have put themselves in a great position heading towards the postseason. Jennings moved their overall record out to 25-7 with the big win, while the Lady K’s fell to 20-9. The Lady Dogs will close out their regular season tonight when they travel to Westlake to face the Lady Rams in the season finale. Jennings used a pair of big nights from Jill Fontenot and Bri Doucet to help secure the win over the Lady K’s, with the two combining for 37 points.

Lady Cards fall to Midland, 48-47

LACASSINE – The No. 11 Lacassine Lady Cardinals nearly pulled off an upset of No. 4 Midland Tuesday night, but fell just short by a final of 48-47 at Juneau Gymnasium. The loss dropped the Lady Cards to 16-14 overall, while Midland was able to improve to 22-11 and claim second in district 6-B with the win. The Lady Cards will wrap up their season tonight when they travel to Opelousas to take on J.S. Clark Leadership Academy in the season finale.

No. 4 Cardinals demolish Midland, 88-54

LACASSINE – The No. 4-ranked Lacassine Cardinals continued their dominance of district 6-B Tuesday night with a big, 88-54 win over the Midland Rebels at Juneau Gymnasium. Lacassine kept their winning streak alive at 19 games in a row, and moved their district record out to a perfect 9-0. The Cards already clinched the league title, and will attempt to finish the district slate unbeaten when they travel to Opelousas tonight to take on J.S. Clark. The Cardinals will also be attempting to hit the 30-win mark for the season and move their winning streak to an astounding 20 games. Lacassine placed five players in double figures against Midland, with senior Santiago Valencia leading the way with 22 tallies.

Dogs blow past Golden Knights, 74-44

The Jennings Bulldogs got back on the winning track Tuesday night when they put a beat down on the South Beauregard Golden Knights at Gaudet Gymnasium. Jennings was able to topple the Golden Knights by a final count of 74-44. The win moves the Bulldogs out to 11-10 overall, and they currently sit at No. 21 in the latest 3A power ratings. Jennings would take a comfortable lead in the first quarter of the contest, then drop the hammer on the Knights with a huge second half. The Dogs placed three in double figures, with Chance Levi leading the way with his 23-point outburst.
