The Westlake Rams came into Jerry Simmons Stadium Friday night and spoiled Homecoming festivities for a packed house, as they slipped past the Bulldogs by a final of 21-14 on a brisk October evening. Despite their 1-5 mark entering the contest with the No. 5 Bulldogs, Westlake played like a possessed team most of the evening to earn their second win. The Rams grabbed a 14-0 lead at halftime, withstood a Jennings second-half rally and added a fourth-quarter kick-off return for a score to earn the hard fought victory.

The Jennings Alumni Tournament Committee donated $13,000 at halftime of the Welsh game to JHS Principal Wilbert Guilbeaux for Bulldog Athletics. The money will be used for upgrades to the weight room at JHS in memory of longtime Bulldog supporter Ronnie Demerit. Benoit combined for 267 yards of total offense in Welsh’s 34-30 win over the Jennings Bulldogs in week six. Benoit threw the pigskin for 141 yards and three TD’s, while also rushing for 126 stripes. The senior quarterback hit receiver Dylan Degeyter for an 11-yard scoring pass with only nine seconds left to go in regulation to secure the win.
