The Jennings Lady Bulldogs and Kinder Lady Yellow Jackets squared off in a Top-3 match-up Thursday night at the Jennings High School softball complex. The Lady Dogs entered the game with a 12-1 mark and a No. 3-ranking in Division II, while perennial power Kinder came in as the No. 3-ranked team in Division III with a 12-5 record. In what turned out to be an excellent played ball game, the visiting Lady Jackets were just a little too much and escaped with a 7-4 district win. Kinder pounded out 12 hits in their win, and took advantage of three Jennings errors. Highlytouted Kinder hurler Bri Fontenot picked up the win in the circle by spinning seven innings. She fanned eight Bulldog hitters in the contest, while allowing four runs on seven hits. Jenna Morvant suffered the tough loss for Jennings, but pitched admirably in her seven innings of work. Morvant allowed the seven runs, however only five were earned, and fanned three Kinder hitters.
