A 68-year-old woman, who walked 1,500 miles of a 3,000 mile trip from Philadelphia to California last year to protest low welfare payments in Pennsylvania, passed through Jennings Saturday on her way back to Philadelphia.
Sun-bronzed, grey-haired and spunky, Mrs. Helen Hall said that the walking was the best thing she could have done for her arthritis. “The constant exercise keeps the calcium deposits to a minimum’,’ she said as she explained that she walks until she gets tired and then she catches a ride.
