During the summer months, children do not receive the meals provided by schools. As a way of ensuring they get enough to eat while school is out of session, a program will be offered free of charge.
The ASSIST Agency will be sponsoring a Summer Food Service and Recreation program at Jennings Elementary School that will be open from May 28- July 3, Monday through Friday.
“There is no charge or registration for the meals,” said Community Services Director Edna Simar. “Children ages 1-18 are eligible to participate in the food service program.”
