HATHAWAY – The Hathaway High School (HHS) boys’ and girls’ basketball lineups put away the Lacassine High School (LHS) squads on Friday night at Charles F. Groth Gymnasium. The Hornets hit the bullseye against the Cardinals 65-45, while the Lady Hornets took out the Lady Cardinals 63-56, securing the girls as 7-B District Champions for the third year in a row.
LAFAYETTE – In a key battle for both teams to decide the district 6-2A champion, the Lake Arthur Lady Tigers (LA) and Tigers dropped a pair of tough decisions to Division III power Lafayette Christian Academy (LCA) Friday night. The Lady Tigers were topped by the Lady Knights by a final of 43-28, while the Tigers were beaten by the Knights by a count of 68-36. Both LCA squads sit with unbeaten records in district 6-2A, and are among the Top-3 in Division III of the nonselect school division.
