As ever, they follow the headlines and pop up wherever there’s money to be made. So, before you make a donation to support any cause, here are a few things to think about and do:

As I write this it is Friday. Tomorrow I will be in Lake Arthur covering a rally that is planned for peaceful protest against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. The organizer, Mr. Ricky Cormier, told me he mostly wants the event to promote unity in the parish.

CARNEGIE LIBRARY RESUMES REGULAR HOURS

Beginning Monday, the Jennings Carnegie Library will resume regular operations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Curbside service is still available for those still not comfortable entering public buildings.

FEEDING PROGRAM DISTRIBUTION RESCHEDULED

The ASSIST Agency’s Jeff Davis Summer Feeding Program Meal Distribution for June 8 and possibly June 9 will be rescheduled due to impending tropical storm.
