LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville’s police chief was fired Monday after the mayor learned that officers involved in a shooting that killed the popular owner of a barbecue spot failed to activate body cameras during the chaotic scene. A huge group marched hours later to the spot in a peaceful protest.

Governor eases restrictions on businesses

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Monday that he’s allowing bars and spas that have been shuttered because of the coronavirus outbreak to reopen this weekend, as he further eases restrictions on businesses in a state once one of the nation’s hot spots in the pandemic.

Second Harvest

A group effort between the National Guard and volunteers from First Baptist Church distributed donations from Second Harvest Food Bank to Jeff Davis Parish residents. Initial reports estimate nearly 300 vehicles were served.
