After all activities came to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Jeff Davis Riders Club (JDRC) are gearing up to get back in the saddle.
ROANOKE - The first ever “Learning on a Horizon to Greatness” summer program will be held at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church from June 15 through July 23. Registrants will meet from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
People can accomplish greatness when they work together for a common cause. Hopefully this weekend’s rally in Lake Arthur will show Jeff Davis Parish just how many people are willing to stand together for a better world.
In this space last week, I wrote about the importance of really listening to what black and brown Americans are trying to tell us as they’ve taken to the streets – propelled by generations of anger and sadness – to call for the same treatment and access to opportunity white Americans take for granted.
