Study to look at Bayou Lacassine drainage

WELSH – The town here and two drainage districts will be funding a study that will determine how to best address the drainage of Bayou Lacassine.

While the Gator Chateau and Jeff Davis Parish I-10 Park Visitor’s Center reopened partially in May, starting Monday, June 8, the facility will be fully open to the public.

COVID-19 test sites coming to JDP

Residents of Jeff Davis, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu and Cameron parishes are being offered more local options for COVID-19 testing. Local parish governments are teaming up with the Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Public Health to have the Louisiana National Guard operate mobile testing sites to make it more convenient for residents of southwest Louisiana to get a test.
