After learning last week that the Jennings Bulldogs would be unable to travel to Iowa for their week five district contest due to a Covid-19 quarantine, head coach Rusty Phelps quickly found the Leesville Wampus Cats to fill the void. The two teams were slated to open the regular season in week one, however the late start to the season cancelled the contest. Leesville lost their scheduled contest with rival DeRidder this week, opening the door for the two teams to reschedule. The Dogs and Wampus Cats met in the preseason for a scrimmage at Jerry Simmons Stadium, leaving both coaching staffs with a good taste of what both teams want to do on offense and defense.
