BATON ROUGE (AP) — Louisiana’s utility regulators are trying to soften the blow of the high heating charges customers will face from February’s winter weather by requiring companies to spread the impact over multiple electricity bills.

Tenn. bill to ban transgender athletes heads to governor

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee’s Republican-led Statehouse gave final legislative approval Monday to a measure to ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ sports, a measure many critics warn would likely result in costly legal challenges and be harmful to transgender youth.

Bulldogs thump Kaplan 12-2

ERATH - For the second straight game, the Jennings Bulldogs spotted their opponent an early lead. But like the day before in their win over Comeaux, the Dogs came roaring back to capture a win. This time, in dominant fashion, as they blasted the Kaplan Pirates by a final of 12-2 via the 10-run rule in six innings. With the game tied just 1-1 after four complete, Jennings erupted for six runs in the fifth frame and five in the sixth to end the contest early.

LSU softball downs Texas A&M to even series

BATON ROUGE — The No. 12 LSU softball team defeated Texas A&M 6-1 in game two to even the series Sunday afternoon in Tiger Park The Tigers move to 17-8 on the season while A&M falls to 20-4 on the year. The Tigers are now 3-2 in the SEC and the Aggies move to 1-1.
