Hounds fall to LCA in finale, 49-13

LAFAYETTE — The Welsh Greyhounds closed out the regular season of play on the gridiron here Friday night with a 49-13 loss to Lafayette Christian Academy. Welsh ends the regular season with a 6-4 overall mark and a 2-2 District 4-2A record. The Greyhounds are currently seeded number 19 in the state playoffs involving class 2-A non-select schools.

Jennings outguns Westlake 55-42 in regular season

The Jennings Bulldogs pulled out a huge win over the No 14-ranked Westlake Rams here at Jerry Simmons Stadium Friday night by a final of 55-42. The shootout victory upped the Bulldogs overall mark to 4-6 overall, 3-2 in district 4-3A play. Jennings came into the contest sitting at No. 27 in the 3A power point projections, but should see that number rise when brackets are released Sunday. The win also gave the Dogs a third-place finish in district 4-3A behind Lake Charles College Prep and Iowa.

The Welsh Greyhounds dropped a 49-13 tilt to 2A power Lafayette Christian Friday night on the road to finish off the regular season. Welsh ended their regular season at 6-4 overall.

Kaplan Tops Lake Arthur 56-26

Lake Arthur dropped a 56-26 decision to 3A Kaplan in a non-district tilt to close the season. The Tigers end their year at 3-7 overall.
