5A Broncos slip past Bulldogs, 36-27

MOSS BLUFF — The Jennings Bulldogs capped off their 2024 preseason schedule Thursday night when they traveled to Sam Houston High School to take on the 5A Broncos. The hosts used a dominant start and built a 28-7 lead at half but fought off a feisty Bulldog rally in the second period to hang on for a 36-27 win.

Hounds topple Trojans in scrimmage

WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds got their first look at hitting someone other than themselves Friday night when they hosted the East Beauregard Trojans in a scrimmage. The Hounds had their way with the Trojans, as they amassed 321 yards rushing with the first unit and 145 stripes through the air to go along with five touchdowns.

Dogs opener moved

The Jennings Bulldogs’ opening regular season contest against the Iowa Yellow Jackets has been moved from Friday, Sept. 6 to Thursday, Sept. 5. The game will also be played at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff because Iowa High School’s football lights are under construction. The Bulldogs are still scheduled to take on the Sam Houston Broncos tomorrow night in the Sam Houston Jamboree.
