Tom Edwards, an itinerant umbrella mender, and Jim Herndon, a cook with the same meandering habits, got into a controversy as to who should be the custodian of a certain bottle of booze Sunday afternoon, resulting in a final entanglement of fists and faces. Today both are languishing in the city jail for lack of facilities for extracting themselves from its environments, because when confronting Mayor Gamble this morning, he said, 'Two dollars or 10 days.'
