POLICE REPORT

Twenty people were booked into the parish jail by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office over the past week.

Friday, October 30

Roland Javorde White, of Jennings, was charged with possession with intent of heroin, violation of protective orders, theft from $1,000-$5,000 and criminal mischief.

Titans, Bears eager to snap 2-game skids after strong starts

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans are not happy. Their sizzling start during which they won their first five games is a distant memory with the fresh pain of back-to-back losses for the first time since December.

“It’s tough,” Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill said. “Everyone’s frustrated. Just not going out and performing the way we expect to is frustrating, plain and simple. But at the end of the day, we have no one to look to but ourselves.”

An Open Letter to Kirk Credeur, Superintendent of Jeff Davis Parish Schools:

We write this letter to Mr. Credeur to bring attention to the travesty currently affecting the students of Jeff Davis Parish. As a group of concerned parents, we are seeking an answer to the question:

Why are our children continuing to be denied a daily learning schedule while surrounding parishes are returning?

We have formed the Parent Advocacy Coalition for Education (PACE), and our goal is to effect change in our parish by shedding light on the current situation.

Lessons learned from the 2020 election

Sure, we didn’t know who won right away, or the next day, or the day after that, but we still learned quite a bit from the election.

Among other things, I learned that “pollster” should no longer be considered a job.

Those who have made polling their life’s work need to pursue another vocation. They blew it “bigly” again, with an assist from a media that lapped up every flawed percentage point.
