NEW ORLEANS, La. (AP) — Louisiana blood banks are sponsoring a series of donation efforts in coming days to bolster blood supplies following natural disasters in the state as well as tornadoes that devastated communities in several others.
The Blood Center is encouraging Louisiana residents to donate blood to the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps, WDSU-TV reported.
Supplies will be sent to Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee — states that faced damage from powerful tornadoes over the weekend.
