JDP Libraries end successful 2021, plan new ventures

This holiday season is festively signaling the end of a rather exciting year for Jeff Davis Parish Libraries and they will ring in the new year with more new developments.

In 2021, the board started moving forward with plans for building a new library in Welsh, due to a lack of space at Welsh McBurney Memorial Library. The town council voted in September to donate property for the building.

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph H. Benoit, 81, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021.

Visitation will be held prior to his service from 8 a.m. until services time.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Ralph Houston Benoit, 81, passed away at his home in Hathaway on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021.

Ralph was a native of Jennings and longtime resident of Hathaway. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
