LA Art in the Park vendors wanted

As part of a three-year celebration, Friends of the Welsh Museum honored the town’s past and present ministers and health professionals during a reception. The celebration started in 2023, when the Welsh Museum celebrated its 30th anniversary and the town celebrated 135 years since the signing of the town charter. Many family members of past honorees, as well as several present ministers and doctors, attended the reception, including Father Prabhakar Kowtiki (below left photo, from left) of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Helen Daigle Lopez, who was a nurse in Welsh for 27 years, and Dr. Young Hee Kang (below right photo, on right) who has practiced medicine in Welsh since 1982 with her late husband, Dr. Young Bin Kang.

Water board presents water issue plan

Board nixes 4-day school week

Parish schools will continue with a five-day school week for the 2024-25 year as the Jeff Davis Parish School Board shot down the proposed four-day week by a vote of 12-1 at Thursday’s meeting.
