JHS Band Boosters to hold cake bingo fundraiser

The public is invited to attend a fundraising event hosted by the Jennings High School Band Boosters.

A cake bingo, beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, will be held at the Church of Christ on N. Cutting Avenue.

The event will continue until all cakes are distributed.

“Our main goal is to raise funds in order to pay the salaries of extra instructors and a color guard assistant,” said Booster Club president Joni Reed. “We are hoping to raise enough money to hold us through the summer.”

Robert “Bobby” Frank Palermo, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2019, in Houston Methodist Hospital surrounded by his family after a hard-fought, fiveyear battle with mesothelioma.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, with Father Jay Alexius officiating.

Funeral services for Mrs. Patsy Ruth Sensat, 80, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings today, Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 10 a.m., with Reverend Wayne Dartez officiating.

Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday, May 6, from 5-8 p.m. and will resume today, Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of her service.

Patsy will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery beside her beloved husband.

Patsy was born in Marshall, Texas, on Sept. 23, 1938, to the late Melvin Graham and the late Grace Presnell Graham.
