Friends and family of the late Hannah “Didi” Cassidy gathered at the Zigler Art Museum in Jennings to honor her legacy and lifelong commitment to the arts. With her four children present, ZAM Board President Celia Joe Black dedicated the painting, “In the Highlands” to Didi. The painting, by MacNeil MacLeay, was created in 1845. “It is just a joy to have so many people here tonight to honor Mrs. Hannah ‘Didi’ Cassidy,” she said. “Everyone here, of course, knew her and loved her.” The president spoke about Didi’s willingness to immerse herself in the community. “Mrs. Didi was involved in so many organizations in our parish and our city,” she said. “Every single one of them was blessed to have her as a part of their organization, but we have been blessed for decades. This lady was a dear friend and a wonderful supporter.”
