Official early voting turnout results showed an 8 percent increase over the last gubernatorial election in 2015.
According to results released this week from the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office (SOS), voter turnout during the early voting period Nov. 2-9 totaled 3,931, or 19 percent of eligible voters registered with the Jeff Davis Registrar of Voters as of Nov. 1.
In comparison, in the last gubernatorial election in 2015, only 11 percent of registered voters turned out to vote in state and local races.
