On Dec. 16, Richard Morgan (right), President of the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home Ancillary Committee, presented a plaque to James O. Hall Post 19 of the American Legion in Jennings in appreciation for the post allowing the committee to use the American Legion hall for committee meetings during the past nine months. Prior to March 2020 the Ancillary Committee had been meeting at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home. However, because of COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, the committee had to find another place to meet. The Ancillary Committee plans and conducts fundraising events to generate revenue in support of activities and projects beneficial to the home’s residents. They also work volunteer hours to aid and assist the veterans at the home. Horace Naquin (left), Commander of American Post 19, accepted the plaque on the post’s behalf.
