IOWA – The Hathaway Lady Hornets took firm control of district play Monday night by pulling away from the Bell City Bruins by a final of 59-42. The Bruins have handed the Hornets one of their four losses on the season, but Hathaway was quick to return the favor played at Iowa High School. Despite trailing 23-19 at the half, the Lady Hornets rallied for a pair of 20-point periods in the second half to ultimately claim the 17-point win. Freshman Sienna Guidry had the hot hand for the Lady Hornets in the top-10 clash, pumping in 22 points on six 3-point bombs. With the win, Hathaway improves to 24-4 overall, 4-0 in league contests, while the Bruins dropped to 18-6 overall, 1-3 in the district standings.
